Rose

Rose gold and tortoise shell watch | Kenneth Cole

I'm currently crushing on the most delicate of things from nature - Flowers! So romantic when they're blooming and so tragic when they've wilted - but still romantic...  in a tragic kind of way...Ummm...you know what I mean.

Florals are everywhere right now, no matter the shapes, sizes, and silhouettes! But I'm embracing the floral trend in the form of an all different avataar - Rose gold. At once sophisticated, and alternative, this colour is just as delicate as the blooms of spring mentioned before.

Quite the smooth operator this... rose gold flatters any skin tone, and is great even if you're looking at mixing the colours of your metal (a.k.a. yellow, rose and white). It's the most perfect accent to candy coloured pastels, and moves effortlessly from eyelids, to wrists, to fingers, to feet.

And to show you my little collection, I headed into the front-yard, where my beautiful rose (gold) coloured things instantly felt at home.

Lecoanet Hemant Fash-Mob

The models looking ethereal in Lecoanet Hemant S/S'12

Last weekend I was invited to a lovely evening hosted by Lecoanet Hemant. The 'Fashmob' (an interesting twist on the concept of a 'Flashmob' - google it!) was a showcase of a gorgeous Spring-Summer'12 collection with earthy tones, crisp whites, and accents of yellow and blue.

An interesting thing that I thought was a great idea, was that this particular showcase was modeled by real women -  you know, not your typical hour-glass figures - but real women, of varying ages, shapes, and sizes, and from various walks of life.

Everyone could experience the intricate details on the garments up-close, as the models walked to various parts of a circular seating area. And once the choreographed show was over, they moved around, mixing-up with everyone, dancing to the music, and just becoming a part of the party - something to show for how comfortable, wearable and truly summer worthy the collection really is.

(Enjoy the images like they're meant to be, by simply clicking on any image!)

You know how I've said that things are picking up around here.
I think they're going into overdrive, and the brakes have failed!

The Style of a Woman with WforWoman

I'm wearing - Blouse: WforWoman | Skirt: Zara | Shoes: Carlton London
Bag (pictured below): All Things Bright And Beautiful

For those of you who've followed the blog for some time now, you'll know about the WforWoman event last month where I met the girls from Fashion Bombay, and bought the floral shirt you see above.

Well, this time around, the folks from W hosted a little competition for us 'Social Fashionistas'. Delhi's bloggers were invited to style one look each using apparel and bags from the latest W for Woman range. And this here is my entry for the competition.

What I put on my model was not a dress, but infact the slip that went under a dress. It was more interesting and summery with its long-short hemline. So, it was off with the dress, and strip to the slip, and then toss the crocheted gillet on top - because crochet is the way to go my dears! The belt and necklace were used to pull the look together. And voila! a cute little look for a Sunday brunch, or an evening house-party, or a sweet little date. Now pose! Aaaand back to the competition

What I'd like for you to do as a sweet gesture of your appreciation, is to 'Like' my entry on the WforWomann Facebook page here here here.

My little suggestion to the folks over a W, for displaying their bags better

Jafra Blogger Pamper Party

All the pretty girls | Delhi Bloggers at the 'Jafra Pamper Party'

Wow! Things are really on a roll.. Here's a quick hello to tell you what I've been up to this past week.
Jafra USA has brought to India, it's range of cosmetics, and fragrances (Click the link to see their products). And they hosted the bloggers from Delhi, for a 'Pamper Party' where they took us through the intricacies of the application of make-up!

And the entire Delhi tribe was present in (almost) full-force to have their faces turned over with some war-paint, while sharing tips, and having a great time mingling and catching up. It was great to have an opportunity to connect with these ladies.

Jafra also sent us home with a whole host of products. My favourite - Their signature scent - Gardenia. Here are some photos from the day. (Oh won't you click on the photos to really enjoy viewing them!)

In the centre - Akshita of Cupidspeaks and Shaily of Confessions of a Closet

Loads more stories to tell you, but it'll have to wait.

Bed-side story

The dumps | Bed-side table of my nightmares

Imagine my horror, when I realised that my bed-side had turned into a constant dumping ground for magazines, books, chocolate wrappers (from midnight binges), watch/ jewellery tossed off before bed-time, and my daily diary alongside a bottle of water sitting in a puddle of condensation. This was like the bed-side table of my bed-time nightmares!

Thank god for one fine Sunday, when I wasn't as tired from a whole day of work. You'd think that pile would probably have been bigger (or maybe it was.. but I wouldn't want you to see it).

So this week I have embarked on a mission of the before and after kind. And I'm spending today afternoon earmarking some of the inspiring things off the internets on the HOME board on my Pinterest where you can find these, and some more interesting others that are really making me dream...

I need your tips, and tricks on having a beautiful bed-side.
You know what to do - put them down here.
Until next time, hope to see you on Twitter.

Careful.. she whites!

White shirt: Promod | Bolero: Muah | Trousers: United Colours of Benetton
Shoes: Zara | Earings: Vintage | Bag: Kazo | Bracelets: Thrifted

There's nothing like a white top for summer!
.. hmmm... as I exclaimed that last evening I was reminded of Meryl Streep going "Florals?... For spring?.. Groundbreaking.". Haha! And I realized that there are some things that we some times make a big deal about..... like florals for spring, and white shirts for summer! Things you can take for granted, every girl would naturally gravitate towards when the season comes know are staples, and just can't appreciate enough. I'm not going to tell you how many I have (it's shameful!).

So, at a dinner table laden with Indian curry the photographed spanish crocheted mama-sita, met the samurai jack-et. The pretty crochet detailing - very girly. The studded, and beaded bolero jacket - very, kick girly's butt! And in true form, I tried to kick it up a little (what!?.. I wanted to show you my shoes!!) and ended up in a half topple, trying to balance the bum on the bench.

For more on the forever fashionable white shirt, and how to wear it many ways also check out Fashion Bombay.

How are you wearing your white shirt today?
Do you want to tell me the secret of how many white shirts you got?

Tribal Print Party

(click through to check out the full editorial)

I recently found the above editorial done by Teen Vogue on the mixing of tribal inspired prints.

No matter what the occasion, print mixing is a great way to have fun! As you can see here, and here I for one, have been on a print-mixing spree. And tribal is the way to go if you're looking to really make the most of the summer. It has this instant, 'I could be vacationing in Africa right now' appeal. And the nomadic vibe... is THE groove to get into when the sun is sweltering.

So I made a little virtual wishlist of sorts with some of my favourites, and my two cents worth about how you could wear them. And all these guys are available online at PRET-AMODA.com for a steal.

Look 1: The T-shirt girl
Now this one's for your everyday running around. With this bright tee, pair your torn up boyfriend jeans, and a big statement bag alongside.

Look 2: The Diva
Wether you're dancing around a bonfire chanting voodoo stuff, or booty-shaking in a club, or going out for a date with the honey, this dress spells H.O.T. as summer. No working hard required. Skip the earings and go for a long necklace to draw attention to that plunging neckline.

Look 3: The Brunch Babe
Who doesn't like Sunday brunching. And what would be more exquisite than when your pretty little self piles on an arm party with this number, and a geometric bag to complement the lines of the Ikat print.

So folks, that brings us to the close of another episode of when-i-go-shopping-in-my-mind.
