Blue Blooms!

Dress: Muah (on sale) | Shoes: Charles and Keith | Watch: Kenneth Cole
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Necklace: Vintage - gold (grandmother's) | Bag: Zara

If you're stalking me in Twitter, you know that last weekend took me to Chandigarh. And it was in 'The City Beautiful' (I'm wondering if that's correct english!) that we went out for a leisurely stroll, at the Leisure valley.
And it was during this time that we got these photos.

One of the fun things I've done when I was there, was to tie-up with the SUPER DOOPER talented and cool Simran Jagdev. An awesome photographer, and friend from my younger days. So this outfit post is the first of the many things that we're looking to do together. And while the husband got some off-duty time for sneering at me posing-schmosing, Simran clicked away.

I must tell you, that I had a great time there, and checked out some awesome places to shop, with cute vintage looking stuff, and also ate at the Nando's that's recently opened in Chandigarh. More on that soon!

Here's a little tip: To avoid flashing the world with 'what lies beneath' when you're wearing a dress and it's windy/ breezy outside, wear your boy's boxers.. They're super comfy and you feel like jumping all the time! Now carry on reading..

If you're not stalking me on Twitter and Instagram (@japna_sodhi) yet, then now would be a good time to do so. And there's a sweet little surprise from this shoot, waiting for you on my BRAND NEW FACEBOOK PAGE!

Oh! and also check out  Simran Jagdev Photography on Facebook, and you might just end up finding a sneak peek at some of my wedding photos hidden somewhere!

Tarini Nirula Spring Summer Showcase

One of my favourites | The blush coloured bag with lace details

Last week I had the pleasure of being invited by Tarini Nirula, to see a showcase of some of her bags. And I must say I was pleasantly surprised, to see some very interesting and quirky yet classy pieces. From the lovely pastels that spell summer, to the bright yellows, and fushias, from clutches to carryalls, I thought that there was a bag and (maybe sometimes two together) for everyday.

I was especially fond of her iPad cases, that came with a chain sling, and double up as an off-duty clutch or sling bag. And you know what... if I got the chance, I'd wear a matching bag, and iPad case together just for the fun of being totally co-ordinated! (Tarini, are you listening!?)

Now, to get my hands on one of these beauties.. (evil plotting begins)

See what I mean about being perfectly coordinated | Can't help myself

During my visit, I also had a chance to check out the store where Tarini Nirula bags are retailed. It's called Twist, and is a gorgeous boutique store that showcases (and sells of-course!) a handpicked collection of designer apparel and accessories. It's a must-check-out for someone who's looking for, well something with a Twist! And they're at Twist, 2nd floor, Building no. 2, Haus Khas village.

And that's the culprit, trying to be nice to the lovely Tarini

You know you can always count on me to tell you about all the fun places to shop! And while you browse away, maybe you should also browse up my daily mis-deeds

Dear Paris, from Bombay with love.

Tee: Zara | Skirt: Thrifted | Shoes: Zara (Altered)
Necklace: Aldo | Watch: Kenneth Cole | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

India was the inspiration for the Chanel Pre-autum/Winter 2012-13 collection. And Karl Lagerfeld - the creative director at the brand - went so far as to explain that it was "The Paris version of India." Well all that's really fancy-shmancy, but here's a thought.

If Paris can do a version of India, why should India not do a version of 'Le Paris'? And what could be more Parisan than the striped tee?! Here's a Take II, of the Paris-Bombay affair that blossomed last September. Let me introduce you to the cast.

Meet the lovers. The striped tee - very Parisian, very chic - but he's fashionably dressed in Tangerine - The colour of 2012. And the lady from Mumbai, the exotic skirt - she's adorned with Indian motifs and light sequin embellishments.

To bring the lovers together, their fair weather friend - The Rose (that symbol of love, and passion) gold accessories, and shoes. And the love story unfolded on the fine Sunday of last week, at the terrace of that lovely place called Amour. Oooh La La!

I've always been a little apprehensive about horizontal stripes, but I thought that this embellished skirt, and the statement necklace, were just the right kind of distractions.

What did you think of this little experiment? Works? Doesn't?
Let me know in the comments section.

And on 6th June I'm putting this post as an entry to the InFB Remix - Tangerine.

I heart you!

Shirt: Forever New | Pants/ Pajamas: Thrifted (for 50 bucks!!)
Shoes: Carlton London | Bag: Bata | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Now before you start to wonder if this is me, or my evil twin from the circus.. I must clarify. This is ME, looking like my evil twin from the circus ...hahahaha!... if I ever had one!

True story? This darling pair of bottoms isn't mine... nope.. it's the king of them all - a pair of good ol' jammies! I saw it on my sister one fateful night, and then it was love at first sight!

If you know me, you know I'm a big sucker for hearts, and a little celebration of love every now and then always makes me happy. A Sunday brunch at my parents' was just the opportunity I needed. But hold it.. Now there's only one other thing to remember.

Brave times, with brave, bold prints, call for brave bold measures - embrace that print, and take it to the next level, with a heart shaped necklace, and an armful of.. well.. arm candy.
Tell the world there can never be enough of that luurrrvin feelin!

Watch: Kenneth Cole

Necklace: Aldo | Bracelets: Thrifted + ASOS

You feelin me yet!?
Tell me about it in the comments section.

Powerful even in pink

Jeans: Thrifted | Shirt/ Dress: Promod | Shoes: D&A | Bag: Zara
Sunglasses: Vintage (Grandmother's) | Necklace: SI-BLING

Now I've been raging on, about how I'm in love with all kinds of Candy-flossy things! Well, it's only justified then, that I lead by example.

Here's something I want to touch on before we proceed. Pink for me is the colour of a Woman - and so is red, and yellow, and green - but the world over, this weirdly puffy shade is used for any and all references to girly things! (I mean come on advertising! Why else did baby girls have to be branded pink and boys have to be blue?

So coming back... In light of all the recent events in Delhi and crimes against women, this post is little tribute to the Kill-B(ill)lue campaign (no that's not a real campaign! Although I wish it was.. anybody listening). My small way of expressing how the pink in me will never back down.. and men will have to learn to respect women, no matter what their choices of dress, or profession, or drink.

And this is what the law-makers will get for saying that women are targeted due to their 'provocative' and 'obscene' clothing. So ladies, get those genital-crushers out of the cupboard, and go out and strut your stuff with elan. Let those men be very afraid.

Speaking of leading by example - let's kick butt!?

If this seems like a lame kick to you, maybe we should meet in person, and I'll really show you

Many Delhi girls myself included, often travel long distances across the city, in order to work, study and enjoy their right to freedom.
And I'd beg all those of our respected countrymen who think women should stay indoors, and hidden under piles of clothes to eat their words right back.
Because just like beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, so does malice.

You guys with me?

Oh and also listen to this song, I would rather you heard the original, but this is SATC2
